Nine by Independence Day – Project Pan

Nine by Independence Day? It makes no sense! Why not Four by the Fouth of July? (Too few products.) Why not 14 by Bastille Day (I’ll out of town for the update!) Why not 11, which is at least 7+4 (July 4th!)? Here’s the great thing about my approach to project panning… no rules. I was fond of the repeating “N” consonance in Nine and Independence. So here we go…

Smashbox Light It Up Contour (This is one of three mini palettes that were in the Smashbox Light It Up Kit from 2016, the whole set retailed for $45. The closest available item is this Smashbox Contour Kit.)

My goal with this item is to hit pan on both the white and the contour shade. I will be depotting this in order to have more space for my brush, so wish me well.

Pixi Beauty Mini Brow Trio (Ipsy Item, Full Five-shade Brow Palette Retails $12)

This is actually SO close to being done. I definitely will complete it this project. As it’s one of the older items in my collection, I’m pretty pleased that I’ll finish the dark color and can move on to other brow items.

Hourglass Girl Lip Stylo Mini in Influencer (From Sephora Favorites Give Me More Lip 2017; Full size is $32. Value of sample is $17.78.)

This is a simple nude, and I feel really good about my ability to completely finish this. I do like this lip stylo, but it has a waxy smell that I can’t get behind. I don’t anticipate purchasing a full size of this.

Bite Beauty Mini Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Chai (Sephora Birthday Gift 2018; Full size is $26. Value of sample is $8.67.)

I really like this. It’s very high quality, and I would definitely get more of the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche line. I’m skeptical I’ll be able to completely finish this by July 4. It’s a somewhat bolder color and doesn’t require a lot of reapplications.

Too Cool for School Egg Mellow Lotion (Sample Size from Birchbox; Full size is $36. Value of sample is $ 10.23.)

I’m really not loving this face lotion so far. I have been seeking out more moisture-rich formulas, and this doesn’t make my skin feel as hydrated.

The Body Shop Mango Body Butter (Large tub, $30.)

I’ll be finishing this entirely! It was stashed under my bathroom sink for a little too long. The scent is slightly off, so I’ll be using this on nights when I plan on showering (off the scent) in the morning.

L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte in 103, Natural Buff (Retails $12.99)

I had this in my October 2017 project, which I believe was my first ever project pan! It definitely was taking much longer to go through than I thought it should, so I got restless. I switched to using the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse. The Rimmel Dream Mousse is my exact shade (103 True Ivory), so I think I might like this L’Oreal one better in a different shade. It also oxidizes on me, and my Real Techniques sponge soaks it up way more than other sponges do.

I have the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Water Foundation, which I really like as a light, everyday, SPF alternative to the L’Oreal. So I want to use this up so I can focus on that.

Blinc Eyeshadow Primer (Boxycharm Points Purchase, $26)

This is an item from the Boxycharm Charm Store. It’s the only eyeshadow primer I’ve ever tried. I can attest that eyeshadow hardly lasts at all on my eyelids without this–and no, concealer does not work as a replacement for eyeshadow primer for me. I have heard great things about the Urban Decay primer potion everyone raves about, but I can’t bring myself to buy it while I still have a perfectly good primer in my collection. Additionally, panning this product should encourage me to use more eyeshadow palettes, which I seem to be accumulating faster than I can use them.

Winky Lux Uni-Brow Universal Brow Pencil (Boxycharm Item, $12)

I’m apparently extremely optimistic about my ability to complete the Pixi brow powder. At which point, I’ll switch to focusing on this one. I don’t love this. It’s chalkier and less natural. But it’s a pretty quick and easy thing for work day brows.

So that’s it. Nine items with just over nine weeks. Wish me luck.
