Makeup,  Project Pan

13 by Halloween Project Pan

Right after my summer bucket list update, I’m going to give you my autumn project pan introduction! Here’s 13 by Halloween, 13 (or 12 or 14, depending on how you group these items) make up and skin care products I’m focusing on finishing before the spoooookiest day of the year.

The BrowGal Eyebrow Gel (Boxycharm Item, $20)

The first time I used this, I felt like it was a little too crunchy. So I closed it up and put it back in makeup storage. Now I’m liking it a lot more, but it’s at least two years old. Thinking I need to use this up, then move along in my brow life.

Winky Lux Uni-Brow Universal Brow Pencil (Boxycharm Item, $12)

You all have seen this before. It requires a light hand, but I’m happy with it. I don’t do much with my brows other than lightly fill them in. This does a good job of that and is quick and low maintenance.

Pure Marula Facial Oil (Boxycharm Item, $65)

I refused to use this when I first got it. Face oil!? For someone with oily skin? Pass. Well, I was wrong. I started learning about skin care in general, and apparently face oils are actually useful. Here’s a video from Stephanie Nicole about the science behind face oils.

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Eye Cream (Sample size; Full size is $48. Value of sample is $16.)

I’ve been using this for a while. I don’t have bags or anything. I just have dark under eyes with some minor wrinkles. I can’t tell for sure if this is minimizing either of those, but at the very least it’s moisturizing. I’ll be focused on using it up to see if there is a difference.

Two Deluxe Sample Size Mascaras:
Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara (Deluxe size; Full size is $23. Value of sample is $12.46)
It Superhero Mascara (Deluxe sample; Full size is $24. Value of sample is $13.60)

I really like the It Cosmetics Superhero mascara. It’s a good combo of voluminizing and lengthening. It think it lasts pretty well without transferring. But it does get kind of flakey at a certain point. The Tarte Lights, Camera Lashes was not my favorite originally. But I grew to like it. With mascara I can be pretty picky. With deepset eyes, oily eyelids, and sensitive eyeballs, it’s hard to find a combo that lasts, doesn’t transfer, and doesn’t burn. Anyway, these two need to be used up by October since they’ve been open for a while. So I’m focusing on them.

L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte in 103, Natural Buff (Retails $12.99)

This is a cheat because I’m almost 100% sure it’s almost done. But I’m throwing it in here anyway. I realized that I wear very little foundation compared to most. When the Makeup Breakup did this foundation, they got very few applications compared to my experience with this. Is this the third project I’ve put this foundation in!?

Smashbox Light It Up Contour (This is one of three mini palettes that were in the Smashbox Light It Up Kit from 2016, the whole set retailed for $45. The closest available item is this Smashbox Contour Kit. Estimated value of each shade is $5.)

Counting this as two items this round because I have two different goals. I want to entirely use up the highlighting powder, which I use as a setting powder. And I want to hit some serious pan with the contour. It has to happen this time!

Blinc Eyeshadow Primer (Boxycharm Points Purchase, $26)

This is not measurable. Again, I’ll be using this to encourage myself to use more of my eyeshadows. If I can use this 5/7 days of the week, that will be huge for my usage of this and also getting into some of my other eyeshadows!

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Liner (Retails $22)

This is another one that I’ll have to say goodbye to in October anyway. It’s been open for a while. I’m trying to find a replacement for my VERY beloved Rimmel Glam’Eyes Liquid Liner. The Rimmel liner was super black, with amazing staying power. Even better, it had the perfect brush tip that gently hugged my lashes making it quick and easy to get a thin line. So far I like this Stila liner much much much better than the lauded Kat von D tattoo liner. It has better (but not great) staying power, and it’s not drying out as quickly as the Kat von D. Otherwise, they’re pretty similar. Why did we move to felt brushes again?

Bite Beauty Mini Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Chai (Sephora Birthday Gift 2018; Full size is $26. Value of sample is $8.67.)

I love this formula. And I badly want their limited edition Saffron Fire Amuse Bouche lipstick. Maybe if I can use up this deluxe-size sample, I can treat myself to the Saffron Fire lipstick if it’s still in stock then.

Bite Beauty Limited Edition Spice Collection Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Saffron Fire

Lord & Berry Eyeliner (Boxycharm Item, $19)

I really like this eyeliner. I moved away from lining my waterline because the internet told me it makes my eyes look smaller. But, you know what, it’s kind of my style. I like the way I look with my waterline lined! So, I’ve sharpened up this puppy and am going to see how much damage I can do with it.

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream (Boxycharm Item, $10)

I’m not a huge fan of this scent, even though everyone loves it. However, this lotion feels amazing. It absorbs quickly and makes your skin so soft. I hate lotions that leave you feeling kind of sticky, and this one does not do that. Still, in my fervor to minimize my collection, I’d rather use up this sample and get through some of the lotions I have sitting around.

After October I’ll probably only have one more project pan this year! I’ve really enjoyed project panning to complete my 12 for 2018 New Year’s resolutions. However, I am getting a little tired of it. I think I’ve already learned some of the skills I wanted to from this.
