2019 Project Pan

One of my 2018 goals was to keep a rolling project pan. I have yet to begin a new one since October. My project pan goals felt more like work than like fun lately.

Instead, I’m going to kick off a project I’m actually kind of excited about… a year-long pan project.

For my 2019 Project Pan, I’m focusing more on the products that I want to be using more. Last year, during my rolling project pans, I often focused on products I thought I was near using up. Those projects were often about just finishing things that were close to being done so I could use things I had.

This year, with my 2019 resolutions to use all my lipsticks and use all my eyeshadows, I don’t want to limit myself with my project pans. I don’t want to feel stuck to one eyeshadow palette or one eyeliner.

Instead, I’ve picked items that I want to use and can often find myself neglecting. Instead of the emphasis being on finishing a product, it will be on seeing how much progress I can make.

Thus, my updates for this project will just be quarterly updates on progress, not pressure-filled lamentations of why on earth it takes so long to use a blush or an eyebrow powder. Instead of a true project pan, it’s almost like beauty-specific resolutions.

Tarte Maracuja Oil

I bought this product to replace a different face oil that I panned. I don’t love the natural nutty scent of this product, but I do love that it absorbs rather quickly. However, buying the super-size of a product with a one-year shelf life may have been a mistake. I’m going to expand my use of this product, and see how far we get to finishing it by the EOY.

La Neige Lip Sleeping Mask

This product is amazing, and I already have a nice dip in it. It’s just one of those products that’s hard to remember to use, because once I put it on, I don’t want to drink anything–not even the glass of water by my bed. Using this, in conjunction with my Tarte lip scrub, will make a huge difference for my lips and skin.

Rosebud Perfume Co. Strawberry Lip Balm

A friend included this in very adorable baskets for her bridal party. The strawberry scent is so fun, and this is the only moisturizing chapstick I’m using right now. You can see, from the dent, that this gets a lot of abuse in my purse. I’d like to see the progress I can make on it, just to see…

Koty Airspun Loose Powder

This powder smells a lot like old lady. That’s an official term, like new car smell… It’s not entirely unpleasant. I really love the Rimmel Stay Matte powder, but I’ve moved that to my purse for touch-ups. This year, I’m focusing on this loose powder for at-home. I like the way it sets my makeup and is easy to dust away excess. If I really make myself too powdery, then a good misting of setting spray can take care of the rest. I opened this product a month ago or so, and it doesn’t look like it’s even been touched!

Five Mascaras

You’re supposed to open a new mascara every three months. About a month ago, I opened a Marc Jacobs one, which I am loving. A too-old Tarte Lash Paint is in my purse, and I can tell it’s getting flaky. I want to use those and three others…just to prove to myself I can stay hygienic and get rid of mascara before I give myself an eye infection.

Body Lotions

I do not moisturize nearly enough. My skin gets pretty dry, especially in these rough Nebraska winters. I’d like to track my lotion usage just to shame me into using more!

NCLA Nail Cuticle Oil

Cuticle oil is just not a product I use very often. But it’s something I’d like to try to use… just to know if it’s even worth using in the future. This one is from an old Boxycharm.

The Brow Gal Brow Trio

I know. I have panned a lot of brow products! This made it into this specific project pan because I just don’t care much about brow products. I’m happy with this and how it’s working. I don’t feel like I need variety in my routine for this. And I like the idea of seeing what progress I can make, just to see.

Tarte Pout Prep Lip Exfoliant

In conjunction with the other TWO lip moisturizing products, this is a really good scrub that I love using…but don’t use enough. I do use a lot of drying lipsticks, and if I want to keep using them (which I do) I need to take care of myself!

Are you Project Panning this year? What are you focusing on using in 2019?
